Press Release

3/12/06
Pilots soar in hourly rate.

Physicians have a clear edge over airplane pilots in annual earnings, $145,688 to $128,406. But pilots have an edge of their own. They work a lot less, averaging just 1,083 hours per year, compared to 2,188 for doctors.

The result is that pilots earn $118.58 per hour, easily outdistancing physicians, whose rate is $66.58, as figured by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
