Cedar City Regional Airport is a perfect training site with an on field FAA flight Service Station and enough air traffic to provide you with the opportunity to learn how to handle in-flight communications. Cedar City Regional Airport is located in an area with large mountains and vast expanses of canyon lands, deserts, rolling hills and farmlands. Cedar City is subject to all types of weather including snow, fog, wind, rain, and large amounts of sunshine which will enable you to acquire the skills needed to master each and every type of terrain and weather you may encounter in your flying career. Cedar City is a diverse community of over 30,000 people located in the southwestern part of Utah. Cedar City, with a four year university, is the home of the famed Utah Shakespearean Festival, and sits amidst the highest concentration of national parks and recreation areas in the United States. You will have the opportunity to experience these beautiful views from the air. There are many places to camp out and enjoy fishing, hunting, hiking, or just camping out in the many recreational areasCedar City and its wide assortment of year-round activities is in close proximity to The Grand Canyon, Lake Powell, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, Brian Head Ski, Snowboard, and Mountain Bike Resort, and Las Vegas. Cedar City is in the heart of the western United States, only a 2 1/2 hour drive north from Las Vegas and a 3 1/2 hour drive south from Salt Lake. Of course flying is a much different story. In 2 1/2 hours you can fly to Phoenix and catch a Diamondback's game; or spend the weekend in Las Vegas and get there in just 45 minutes. The Cedar City Airport has commercial air service through Sky West Airlines, with daily flights to Salt Lake City. Southern Utah University has approximately 6,000 students, making Cedar City a college town filled with student activities and events.
